The Seafarers Program: Empowering Nigeria’s Youth for a Maritime Future
The Seafarers Program, a collaboration between Tetra Foundation and GoodWork Marine, addresses youth unemployment in Nigeria by offering high-quality maritime training, sea-time experience, and globally recognized certifications. This initiative aims to create a skilled and high-earning workforce equipped to drive growth in global and local marine infrastructure and investments.
Who Can Apply?
Young, vibrant youth (female and male) between the ages of 16-20 years.
Program Requirements
1. Educational Requirements
Applicants must meet the following WASSCE grade thresholds:
Physics: >B3
Chemistry: >B3
Mathematics: >B3
English: >C4
Geography: >B3
2. Identity Verification
Applicants must present:
A Birth Certificate or other government-issued proof of birth.
A National ID card.
3. Health Requirements
Good eyesight with no color blindness.
Certification from a registered ophthalmologist confirming good vision.

Ensure you have digital/scanned copies of all required documents.
Double-check that the information provided is 100% accurate, as it will be used throughout the application process.
Bring proof of good eyesight from a certified ophthalmologist to the physical interview.
Be prepared to submit recent passport photographs:
Photo size: 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm
Face size: 75%-80% of the photo

Application Process
1. Written Assessment:
All applicants will undergo a written assessment as the first stage.
2. Online Psychometric Test:
Shortlisted candidates will take an online psychometric evaluation.
3. Interview Stage:
Successful applicants will be invited for either a virtual or in-person interview conducted by independent panels.
4. Selection Criteria:
Providing false information at any stage will result in disqualification.
Any attempt to influence the selection process will lead to automatic disqualification.
