Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Lecturer to join our Nautical Science Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and mentorship, ensuring students receive high-quality academic and practical training in nautical science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical training in Nautical Science.
- Supervise and mentor cadets in research and coursework.
- Design and update curriculum in line with maritime industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct assessments, examinations, and provide constructive feedback to students.
- Participate in research activities and contribute to academic publications.
- Collaborate with industry professionals and regulatory bodies to enhance educational quality.
- Ensure compliance with IMO STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping) requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum Qualification: BSc in Nautical Science, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- NYSC Certification
- Strong knowledge of maritime safety, navigation, and international maritime regulations.
- Excellent communication, research, and presentation skills.
- Ability to use modern teaching tools, simulators, and e-learning platforms.
